Congressman Bobby Schilling (R – IL 17) has been touting his “defense” of Medicare in campaign literature. The thing that has me pissed off is that Bobby Schilling voted for future Medicare recipients to buy private insurance – ending Medicare as we know its. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that this would cost the elderly more than $6,400 directly, and more indirectly. I’m starting this blog to give people an alternative to Schilling’s hypocrisy.

A great heartfelt speech from the Democratic National Convetion that you might have missed - Lilly Ledbetter.
In fairness to Bobby Schilling, he was not in Congress when this passed but I have a hard time believing that he would have voted in favor. The original bill was defeated by Republican's in the house along party lines. The second attempt passed after Democrats briefly took control of the house. Mitt Romney has not said if he supports the Lilly Ledbetter (equal pay for women) or not.
