Will Republicans like Schilling continue to undermine FEMA?

It's a tough question. When Romney said he would get rid of FEMA and leave it up to the states to fund disaster relief (Illinois can't even fund their schools or prisons) he was just reflecting the feelings of other Republican polititions (look at Steve King over in Iowa). There is a good story HERE on the recent attempts of house Republicans like Schilling to nickel and dime disaster relief. The problem is that disaster relief is money well spent - the quicker an area gets back on its feet the quicker they are back to producing goods and services for the economy. The quicker an area gets back on its feet the fewer people that will need things like food stamps or healthcare. Who knows where Schilling stands since he can't seem to give a straight answer to any question.

More on Bain Capital/Sensata: Romney is making a killing from this deal.

In Freeport, IL, Sensata Technologies, a company owned by Bain Capital, is sending 170 workers' jobs to China. To add insult to injury, Bain is even forcing the Freeport workers to train their Chinese replacements. A group of the workers have organized to garner support for the "Bring American Jobs Home Act," a common sense bill that gives American workers an even playing field by replacing tax loopholes for companies that send jobs overseas with financial incentives to bring jobs back to America.

On Tuesday, the workers caught up with Schilling but the Congressman refused to answer their simple yes or no question and then walked out of his own town hall meeting to avoid further questions. The video is below.

Bobby Schilling can run from meetings but he can't hide from his record in Washington:

Schilling supports:

  • Free Trade deals that ship jobs overseas
  • Tax break incentives for companies to leave the U.S.
  • Hiding the number of jobs companies send overseas
  • Cutting job retraining programs for workers whose jobs were lost overseas

Join me in asking Bobby Schilling to take a stand on the Sensata Technologies workers plight:

Rep. Schilling, you said, "Americans Need Jobs Now" in the Argus Dispatch on September 23.1 Will you stand up for the jobs at Sensata Technologies in your district and tell Bain Capital that you do not support outsourcing those jobs to China? We demand an answer.

Tell Bobby Schilling to stand up for the jobs at Sensata by signing our PETITION

Oops - Schilling caught lying again

You may have scene the ads showing an animated Cheri Bustos driving a golf cart along a road put in just for her to a country club. Too bad for Schilling none of it is true and the local press is starting to notice (and America for that matter that a candidate would stoop so low - but I'm sorry to say I'm not surprised by anything that Schilling does). The Quad City Times has called him out on his baseless claim. (But to be fair, they aren't happy with Bustos exploiting the way Schilling ran out on a town hall meeting either.)

Here is the video of the town hall - you be the judge. The constituent wanted to know if Schilling supported a bill to provide incentives for American companies to return jobs to America (he doesn't btw). Schilling refuses to answer.
